IWC Schaffhausen is well known for its pilot’s fake watches, its TOP GUN sub-collection and the use of ceramics. These three elements come together in the brand’s latest travel watch, the Pilot’s Watch Timezoner. The Timezoner, to keep it short, was introduced only a couple of years ago and is available as a pure travel watch or as a chronograph. Swiss made fake IWC now adds a new style to the simpler of the two, the copy IWC Pilot’s Watch Timezoner. Following the steel and blue ‘Le Petit Prince‘ and the all-black Ceratanium, this impressive wrist companion is presented in a TOP GUN Woodland forest-green ceramic execution, expanding the ‘Colours of TOP GUN‘ range.
The formidable 46mm wide case is machined out of green ceramic, a material cheap replica IWC has extensive experience with. The case is fitted with a black Ceratanium rotating bezel (and crown), but don’t mistake it for a diving bezel. Instead, pressing down on the bezel allows you to rotate it in both directions, with the hour hand, 24-hour disc and date wheel (if needed) moving back and forth accordingly. The ring in the bezel is also made of ceramic, with the cities corresponding to each time zone in a lighter tone of green. The only break in the green colour scheme is the red marking for UTC, or Coordinated Universal Time.
The high quality replica IWC Pilot’s Watch Timezoner TOP GUN Woodland continues its distinct colour theme on the matte green dial with light green contrasting indices and markings. The black hour and minute hands also have a light green insert, and the seconds hand follows suit. All indices and hands are also luminous, as they should be on a pilot’s instrument. The arched window shows a 24-hour ring, and there’s a colour-matched date at 3 o’clock. The only other touch of colour is the red printed ‘Timezoner’ designation in the bottom half.
A grey-tinted sapphire caseback covers aaa quality fake IWC’s in-house calibre 82760, but the engine can still be admired. The signature openworked rotor drives up to 60 hours of kinetic energy to the barrel while the movement runs at a rate of 28,800vph. It makes use of a Pellaton winding system for increased efficiency and reduced wear, thanks to ceramic components. The clever construction of the movement works in unison with the rotatable bezel to adjust the hour ring as seen on the dial.
The top super clone IWC Pilot’s Watch Timezoner TOP GUN Woodland comes on a green rubber strap with textile inlay and is priced at CHF 18,000 (incl. 7% VAT). In a change from the Ceratanium edition of the Timezoner, which was limited to a production run of 500 pieces per year, this new IWC replica for sale is added to the permanent collection.
